DMCA
Flirti hosts AI-generated content created by its members. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. § 512). This page explains how to file a takedown notice, how to send a counter-notice, and what to expect from us.
Before you file
Everything on Flirti is generated from text by our AI models — we do not accept photo or video uploads, and likeness content of real people is prohibited. The most common valid claims concern written material: a character's bio, tagline, or prompt text copied from your work, or site copy taken from your site. If your claim concerns an AI-generated image or video, please describe the protected work and how it is reproduced — we will still assess it.
How to file a takedown notice
Send your notice by email to dmca@flirti.net. To be valid, your written notice must include all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (a link or description of the original work).
- The exact URL (or URLs) on flirti.net that you claim infringes your work — one per line is fine.
- Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
- Acknowledgement: we confirm receipt within 24 hours of a notice that includes the required elements.
- Action: if the notice is complete and appears valid, we remove or disable access to the reported material within 2 business days. In clear cases we act sooner, and we may remove material faster where the claim involves a serious legal issue.
- Notification: the member who posted the material is notified of the takedown and receives a copy of your notice (with your contact information, as the DMCA requires).
- Repeat infringers: accounts that are the subject of repeated valid takedown notices are suspended or banned under our moderation policy.
Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe it was misidentified or you have authorization, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@flirti.net that includes: the removed material's URL and the date of removal, your name, address, phone number and email, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district of your address (or, if outside the United States, of any judicial district in which Flirti may be found), and your physical or electronic signature.
A valid counter-notice is forwarded to the original complainant. If they do not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the removed material.
Abuse of this process
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that it was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please consider whether fair use applies before filing.
Questions that are not takedown notices (status checks, account issues) go to our regular contact page.
